Quest'estate, con solo tre giorni liberi, sono andato a Oslo. Da Dublino il volo impiega solo due ore e come al solito è abbastanza economico. 33 euro andata e ritorno tasse incluse per un viaggio in pieno agosto è un vero affare!!! Ero stato a Oslo una volta nove anni fa quando ero all'università. Era febbraio e si moriva dal freddo. Ad agosto di certo non faceva caldo, ma con le giornate erano più lunghe e si poteva visitare qualche parco fino a tardi. L'unico difetto della città è che i musei chiudono prestissimo, quindi bisogna studiare bene l'itinerario per vedere più cose possibile in pochi giorni.

This summer, with just three free days in a row, I went to Oslo. The flight from Dublin takes just two hours or so, and as usual it's very cheap. 33 Euros roundtrip in the middle of August is a real bargain! I had been there once when I was at the university, it was in the month of February at that time and it was freezing cold. Well, August is not exactly warm either, but at least you can take advantage of the longer hours of sunshine to visit some parks till late in the evening. One little inconvenience in Oslo is that muesums close very early in the afternoon and therefore you have to plan carefully your stay, especially if it's a short one.

Grazie Ryanair per un altro volo a basso prezzo. Questa volta incluso nel biglietto abbiamo avuto il bonus della "riattaccata", ovvero riprendere quota improvvisamente quando manca poco all'atterraggio. Questa volta perché un animale stava camminando sulla pista.

Thank you Ryanair for yet another cheap flight. This time we got a free bonus thrown in, a "go around", which means that the plane gains altitude again during the final approach, this time because an animal was walking along the runway! 

L'aeroporto usato della Ryanair si trova a 70 km da Olso, a Moss. Per arrivare in centro c'è un autobus chiamato "Rygge Express". Impiega un'ora circa ed è molto caro, ma puntuale e comodo.

Ryanair uses Moss airport for its Oslo flights, 70 kms from the city centre. To reach Oslo we took the "Rygge Express", an expensive, albeit punctual and confortable bus.

La sera è la volta di visitare il parco di Vigeland, con le sculture di Gustav Vigeland. Ci si arriva con il tram 12 dal centro città.

In the evning it's time to visit Vigeland Park, which hosts the sculptures of Gustav Vigeland. It's a bit far from the centre and you get there on the trolley line number 12.
