Tomato sauce

Home made tomato sauce!

Last week we made our homemade tomato sauce. Truth be told, I didn't help much, I brought  the tomatores in from the car booth, and then I took the pictures. Lazy me!

There were about 100 kilos of tomatoes. The evening before we processed them, we arranged them on the floor. Deep red:

We started very early in the morning, at around six o'clock. Tomatoes need to be cut first, and then boiled for a first time.
After being boiled, they have to be sieved with this tool.
The sauce is then boiled once more.
At the end of the process, the sauce is poured into glass bottles where it rests for a few days. And then it's ready to be used to prepare more elaborated sauces, especially when other ingredients are added!!
