MADRID TRANSIT
A Maggio per tornare in Sardegna ho fatto un viaggio un po' particolare. Il biglietto del volo diretto della domenica da Dublino ad Alghero costava ben 101 euro solo andata. Per giunta, io ero in ferie dal sabato e non mi andava di perdere una giornata di vacanze! Allora ho cercato dei voli che arrivassero il sabato ad Alghero, e ho trovato un volo da Madrid per soli sei (6!) Euro. Ho poi cercato un volo al mattino da Dublino per Madrid, e questo costava circa 70 Euro. Allora ho deciso di prenotare e di usare il transito a Madrid come occasione per passeggiare per farmi un'idea di una città dove non ero mai stato.
In May when I had to go back to Sardinia I chose a little special route. The direct flight from Dublin to Alghero is on Sundays, but I was free since the Saturday. Furthermore, the ticket cost 101 Euros, which is too much. So I searched for all the flights that arrive to Alghero on a Saturday, and I found a cheap (only 6 euros!) ticket from Madrid. I bought it together with a morning flight from Dublin to Madrid, which cost me around 70 Euros. All in all, for the price of the direct flight, I managed to visit for a few hours a city I had never been to.
I arrived in Madrid at 9.40 on a wonderful sunny day.
To reach the city, I used the fantastic subway system. The one day pass only costs 6 euros and you can get almost everywhere.

After leaving my bags at the left luggage facilities, here I am in the heart of the town, Puerta del Sol. That's the point from where all the main roads radiate, reaching every corner of the country.
In città c'è una protesta penso a carattere politico. Tornerò piu' tardi quando la situazione sarà piu' calma.

Sono stato a Madrid solo poche ore ma mi è sembrata subito una bellissima città, almeno dal punto di vista del turista. E' elegante, ha tanti musei, si gira benissimo e si mangia bene! Non vedo l'ora di tornare per visitare il resto!!!
I only spent a few hours in Madrid but it immediately looked to me as an interesting place, at least from the point of view of a tourist. It's stylish and intersting, has lots of museums, it's easy to get around and the food ii good too. I can't wait to see what I have missed this time!
